Today, I wanted to share a practice brought to me by my mentor, Shunyamurti. It is a practice that has helped me elevate my meditation practices and get back the innocence of how I see the world and the moments that it brings.
The human mind is conditioned to measure, label, and judge everything it perceives through sensory operations of the body, which makes us lose the unique essence of creation that we are experiencing in each moment.
To remove such conditions, we must go into a state of mind-lessness, where language does not exist, a dimension one can reach and return to the child-like wonder of the world with a pure perspective.
There are no labels or mathematical formulas to measure what is perceived; there is no time or space. There is no longer repetitiveness of the mundane tasks but an experience of the uniqueness of each moment and those moments in between.
Imagine walking through a forest and seeing the trees and grass, hearing the birds, smelling fresh air, and feeling the sun on your face. But labels and judgment of how we perceive can make these moments more mundane and repetitive, losing their magnificent nature to bring us magic, surprise and captivate us.
Imagine that you have never learned any languages. You do not understand or speak a language. No-thing you see, feel, hear, or smell has any language attached to it. The moment that you let go of language, you fall into each moment through the eyes of the Creator with innocence and purity.
Each moment observed through such innocence brings a sense of peace, connecting us to the most intricate parts of nature and ourselves, to the details that have long ago lost meaning through labels, judgments, and logical, methodical measurements.
Without the use of language, see how different each moment becomes and see how time disappears into nothing-ness, leaving only the purity of that moment.
Without language, how do you see the world?
